Toolbox Brigade

What is the Toolbox Brigade? St. Paul’s United Methodist Church is pleased to announce a new ministry: “Toolbox Brigade”. It is a ministry intended to benefit our congregation where they live. It is designed to provide security and comfort to those needing assistance with the challenges of maintaining a household.

We believe that many within our congregation may be in need of assistance with some activities of daily living and minor home maintenance (light bulb replacement, furnace filter maintenance, etc.) that may be beyond their physical ability. The Toolbox Brigade is a means of supporting our senior members, single parents or others in need.

To make it work, we need and appreciate your support and prayers!

How does it work? This program allows a congregation member in need to call the church office with a description of their need. A member of the Toolbox Brigade would then be notified of the request and would call upon one of our volunteers to coordinate/perform the needed assistance. This is where you come it.

If you or anyone in your family is particularly adept at any of the listed activities and would like to help someone in need from time to time. Please volunteer for the Toolbox Brigade. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Every effort will be made to distribute requests equitably among all of the volunteers and no one will be asked to perform services they are not comfortable performing. There will be no high risk services.

How do I arrange to have a Toolbox Brigade volunteer assist me? If you would like the assistance of a Toolbox Brigade volunteer, please contact the church office (344-3557) and leave the following information:
  1. Nature of the task to be performed.
  2. How urgently the task needs to be performed.
  3. Your name, address and phone number.
A Toolbox Brigade member will evaluate the request and may call you for clarification. A volunteer will be contacted to assist with such a task and arrange a convenient time for the homeowner/renter and volunteer. All volunteers will carry an ID card from the church office.

Each homeowner/renter will be expected to pay for the parts and supplies needed to perform the job. The Toolbox Brigade volunteers will provide the labor.

Join the Toolbox Brigade! If you want to participate in meeting the needs of our church family, call the church office (715.344.3557) and let us know which activities you are comfortable performing. You will be contacted regarding volunteer opportunities within the scope of your abilities.
