Visitation Ministry
Each week, a lay person and our pastor visit someone in the congregation with special needs. Maybe someone in a nursing home, or who has had a recent death, or maybe a recent health concern of just a visit to get to know someone more. Sometimes we even get lost – but we’ll never admit to that. Persons interested in participating in this can call the church office. Pastor Howard Hintzman and Lois Kitto are available by arrangement for personal consultations or home visits if need arises.
Here's what people are saying about the Visitation Ministry: The visitation program proved to be a two way street for me. Not only was I doing that which I enjoy, but I got to know Howard better on these little outings. Whether it was a person's home or Oakridge, we were always welcome. We listen to stories and the recollections of days past. We hold a hand, give a hug, say a prayer. The most important thing gleaned from all of this is the joy and sunshine felt in my heart afterwards. I thank God for these folks that have enriched my life by sharing parts of theirs. Bonnie I look forward to visiting the shut-ins with Howard. The people we see seem to enjoy our visits as much as we do. Julie McGivern I enjoy visiting with some of our brothers and sisters who are not able to come to church. They are so receptive to the love the pastor and I have to give. Audrey Dean Making
visits with Howard to our shut-ins is an uplifting experience.
Howard brings humor and spiritual love to our homebound church
family. Calling on the homebound bring joy to both the receiver and
the givers. God's love is endless.
