Rev.
Howard Hintzman-The Weekly
Message John
Tesch has a radio show with music and “intelligence for
living.” I don’t know if my tidbits about living
are intelligent – but they are observations which came about
during the recent Thanksgiving holiday. Number
1. A crystal bowl, when it slides out of the car onto a
concrete garage floor, WILL shatter into many pieces. Number
2. A crystal bowl which shatters on the concrete floor
has very sharp shards of glass that can cut holes in one’s
little finger, leaving it to bleed for a longggggggggggggggg time.
Number
3. Asking an employee of a garden center if he is
married, as your daughter thinks he is cute, WILL embarrass
one’s daughter, even if she is not present at the moment.
(He is married but did ask where she was.) Number
4. Much to my surprise, it is possible to make gravy that is
water thin. On the other hand, it is also possible to make
gravy which is as thick as the potatoes. There has to be
middle ground here somewhere. Number
5. It is possible to put up a Christmas tree and have
it remain standing, when it is in someone else’s house and
not one’s own. Number
6. One can live without being shocked or surprised when
one’s son sends an email which says he is in California
somewhere spending time with someone from his fire fighting crew
and will sometime let us know what he is doing and where he is.
Number
7. God is good. When is God good? All the
time. That my friends is intelligence for living.
