Rev.
Howard Hintzman-The Weekly
Message We
went to the kite show at the business park yesterday. How
fun. Can you believe that a person can simply sit and thrill
at kites flying? Such variety and such colors.
Wonderful to watch the kids, of all ages, get excited about flying
them. Our family has a kite that we have valued for years.
It is sort of a fabric thing and we have had a lot of fun with it.
I think the last time we flew it was in the midst of Princess
Diana’s death when the world was reeling from that. It has
lasted as have our memories that went with it. The
memory of some kites/fun last forever. We have a
pin-wheel sort of thing that lives in our side-yard – it is
faded, looks beat up but just keeps spinning as it has for seven
or eight years. It should be in shreds and broken by now –
but it spins on and we thoroughly enjoy it. We have a game
using two paddles, like ping-pong paddles made of plastic and some
silky fabric - we have also had that for years and have enjoyed it
immensely and will never part with it. I thoroughly
enjoy these kinds of things because they bring with them such warm
and fuzzy memories – bet you never thought I’d never
make a statement like that. Those are the
things worth holding on to. I think God enjoys them and
holds on to them also. Till
next week….h You can reach Pastor Howard
