Rev.
Howard Hintzman-The Weekly
Message Ok
men, don’t even go any further. This has nothing to do
with you. So, don’t read any further – you are just
wasting your time. Did you hear me?! This
weekend in worship we will begin an extended series on the “ages
and stages of life”. This Sunday will focus on childbirth
(see men why I said not to read any further – none of you know
anything about this). I’m sorry, but “ouch” is the
only word that comes to mind for me – but you women have many
other ones I am sure. Any of you women want to say a
word or two about your experience in worship or would be willing
to drop me a few words in response to this? Any of
you from a large family? I mentioned on Sunday, the woman
who was celebrating her 90th birthday and had 16
children. She spent 144 months of her life pregnant or
twelve years, which ever says it better. That’s a
lot of time for one’s body to be intensely focused on another
person, 24/7. You
knew I’d do it, get around to something about me, but this next
Monday would have been my mother’s birthday – she spent close
to 7 years pregnant. I know it isn’t Mother’s Day, but
maybe I should say thank you to her on the 14th.
I am grateful to God for nurturing mothers both when their babies
are in their wombs and when they are in their care outside their
bodies. Till
next week…H You can reach Pastor Howard
