Rev.
Howard Hintzman-The Weekly
Message Well,
it’s crunch time and I am not talking about the guys getting in
shape for football nor the last minute school preparations.
The city oiled our street last week and then added a coating of
pea gravel. Even inside the house I can hear the
crunching of people walking or riding their bikes or driving their
cars. It literally IS crunch time. At first, I
couldn’t figure out what this new sound in the neighborhood was,
but then I experienced it and was enlightened by the realization
of its source. Add that crunching to the crow
chorus, the chipmunk octet, the kids across the street playing
soccer and we find ourselves living in the midst of a symphony of
creation’s best. I like how creation puts things
together, whether to our tastes or not. There is
nothing we can count on in our yard and neighborhood other than we
can’t count on anything being the same. The
randomness of life – what pure delight. The sweeper went
by this morning – sweeping up the crunch. So, by tonight
the sounds will be different. The blending of sounds will be
a new style, but not for long I’m sure. Thank God for the
sounds of life. Till
next week…H You can reach Pastor Howard
