Howard's Weekly Message

Rev. Howard Hintzman-The Weekly Message

August 3, 2009

They are wimps, pure and simple.  They refuse to stand up to creatures which are stronger than they, in a sense they are simply doormats for anything and everything to wipe their feet on.  Who am I talking about?  None other than eye glass frames.   They are the most timid and most easily intimidated creatures out there.  For example,  at one  point, prior to the frames I have now, I had a very light pair of frames, almost unnoticeable on the face.   I was mowing the lawn once, they got caught up in a pine tree and I didn’t know it, until the lens came flying out of the lawn mower – frames never to be found.  Or, like this past Sunday.  I had them laying on our new patio.  I went to move the chaise lounge chair, only to look down and see them writhing in pain from being run over and one of the bows broken off.  Give me a break, in either case could they not have at least stood up to the mower or the chair or at least yelled out at me that they were in the way.  No!  They are really passive and it is disgusting.  So, today I am wearing my glasses from two times ago, with lens that make the ground seem much closer to my face.   If God was going to create eyes that weren’t going to last forever, the least the holy lens maker could have done, was provide frames with more guts to stand up to the intimidations of life – even if they do get mowed over – at least protest.

I guess I better go and get my new frames.

Till next time…H
