Rev.
Howard Hintzman-The Weekly
Message We
are at the point in winter when people are saying “I’m tired
of winter, Spring cannot come soon enough.” We
haven’t even had a bad winter here. A friend, in
Southeast Iowa, emailed this morning me to say it was snowing
again; the expletive he used, I will not share with you.
I found it quite pleasant this a.m. as I took the “long”
walk from our house to the church (out to the street and then
across the parking lot) - without a coat. Perhaps the best
thing about the abating of winter, is the ability to go out
without a coat. Sort of like when one doesn’t have to
try and put your infants in their snow suits or no longer having
to use the car seat. I am always filled with hope
this time of year – the days are getting longer and March is
coming, and then April and eventually June when Spring really
shows up. Interesting sometimes, how we can
take the winter of life in stride, but there is a point where we
say ENOUGH, it is time for Spring. Spring is a break
in the assault of winter and the hope of better days. So,
don’t wait for March 21 to show up – that is no promise of
Spring. Spring has to start in the brain and heart,
the places God gave us to find the hope in life. O, by the
way, it just started to snow. Till
next week…H You can reach Pastor Howard
