Howard's Weekly Message

Rev. Howard Hintzman-The Weekly Message

February 15, 2010

Whoa!  The dreams I’ve been having lately – even some of you make it in at times which is scary – just kidding.  I have been chased by someone trying to murder me.   I have been grateful for the protection of our late dog Keri, and I don’t even like pets.   I have enjoyed watching a project I am working on progress and who knows what else.   Included with the dreams of course is a good share of snoring – thus if you have noticed any rumblings at night you know what it is.   Sometimes, after dreaming like that I wake up worn out and think I would have been better off not to have gone to sleep.  I used to delve into the meaning of dreams using various books I purchased to explain the images that ran rampant through my head.   I’ve given that up – I just wonder, chuckle and shake my head.  I don’t have the energy nor much desire to know what they might mean.

As a matter of fact, as I age, I need fewer and fewer answers to life’s questions, period.  There is always another question begging to be answered anyway.   With many things, I am just more and more content to let them be and to stop demanding answers or solutions or anything.  Of course, I still have my pet things that I want resolved or fixed or even answered – but they have been a chronic condition and perhaps when I am 99 they will subside, a bit.

Alas, I shall see my dreams like going to the movies (only cheaper) for a good laugh like the goofy movies I enjoy.   How good God is to give us dreams, not nightmares, but dreams.

Till next week…h
