VISION: Make and Develop Disciples

We at St. Paul’s are clear about the vision which God has given us, to Make and Develop Disciples. Disciples are those who have said yes to life-changing relationship with God through Jesus Christ and want to grow in living out that relationship based on God’s grace. St. Paul’s is committed to helping people discover a relationship with God, to renew such a relationship and continue that growth throughout their lives.

Our ministry together is based on an account from John 13 where Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and instructed them to do the same.  After Jesus had washed their feet, he said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord—and you are right, for that is what I am. So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have set you an example."

We believe we have been given four practical ways to Make and Develop Disciples by washing the feet of others.

First, we wash feet with a passion – with the same Passion Jesus did throughout his life.

Second, we are accepting of all the people whose feet God has called us to wash.

Third, our passion and acceptance grow out of our relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

And last of all, with passion, acceptance, and through spiritual growth we seek to take care of the neighborhood God has given us and the world.  We wash feet by feeding, clothing, supporting, listening and bringing God’s peace.
